On a particularly windy and rainy day I was struggling to carry my portfolio , which was imitating a sail, from gallery to the bus stop. The gusts were blasting up 3rd Ave and just as I reached the safety of the sidewalk, a bus swooshed by hitting the lake of water on the road! My large portfolio protected me. But the woman next to me got drenched at the same time her beautiful red umbrella was turned inside out. An image burned into my artist brain. The moment she entered the "Rinse Cycle".
